How do I prepare to become a missonary?
- We offer a two week visit to the Mission House as an introduction to our community life of prayer, ministry, service and sacrifice, to help candidates begin discerning their vocation to missionary life.
- The next step is a three month active stay (if the candidate is accepted) to determine whether the candidate wishes to commit himself or herself to this form of religious life.
- With prayer and Spiritual direction the candidate may then request, in writing, to be allowed to begin a noviciate of two years. Along with participation in our missionary life and studying, the habit is worn so they may deepen the sense of their vocation in our charism.
- If it is the Will of God the candidate will make a consecration. They promise to live poverty, chastity, and obedience in the life of St. Joseph Missionaries of Sacrifice for the good of souls and for the love of Christ crucified.
